The beautiful waterfalls of the Otways & Great Ocean Road
There are few things I enjoy photographing more than the beautiful waterfalls of our fantastic state of Victoria. The Great Ocean Road, and in particular, the Otway Ranges have the highest concentration of cascades and falls in Victoria, and most likely Australia. But it's not just the quantity, it's the quality that is most striking. Hopetoun Falls, Beauchamp Falls, Triplet Falls, Erskine Falls & Marriners falls... these are a few of the better known ones. Few people realise that there may be close to 100 waterfalls in the Otways alone, many of which have only been discovered or named in the last 20 years. Trans Otway Waterfall Walk In recent years there has been efforts and lobbying to the Victorian Government for the creation of the 'Trans Otway Waterfall Walk' which would include up to 20 falls & cascades over a 65km trail. If created, it would link the Surfcoast Walk with the Great Ocean Walk, creating an unbroken >200km walk from Torquay to Port Campbell, rivalling wilderness walks in Tasmania and North America. This is something I would very much like to see come to fruition! Waterfall Index Below you will find links to dedicated pages for each of the waterfalls I have photographed, along with the best information on how to get there and the best ways to experience them. It will take some time to create them all so subscribe to my site (on the left Nav Bar) for updates and latest news.
