Australian Beaches are Sensational!

Australian Beaches are among the best in the World, and the Great Ocean Road is no Exception! We have some of the best beaches in Australia for Surfing, Fishing & Sightseeing.

Surf Beaches

Bells Beach
Probably one of the most famous of all Australian Beaches is Bells Beach. This iconic beach is home to the Rip Curl Pro, the longest running Surfing contest in the World. All the worlds’ best male and female surfers converge here every year as part of the ASP World Surfing Tour.

Jan Juc
The other well known surf beach near Torquay is Jan Juc. This popular surf beach lies between Rocky Point to the East and Bird Rock to the West. Jan Juc Surf Life Saving Club patrols the beach during the summer months.

Johanna Beach
A few hours down the Great Ocean Road is Johanna Beach. It's an increasingly popular beach for Surfing, Fishing & Sightseeing. Johanna Beach Campsite is behind the dunes and is a popular camping spot.

'Hidden' Beaches

Blanket Bay
Blanket Bay is one of those 'secret spots' that may be a bit harder to get to, but is well worth the effort. It's popular amongst Landscape Photographers for it's beautiful rock ledges with intricate patterns. You'll feel like the only person on the planet here at times.

Wreck Beach
Wreck Beach is another one of those 'Secret Spots' on the Great Ocean Road. The beach is named for its two prominent shipwrecks; The Fiji, and the Marie Gabrielle, whose rock embedded anchors serve as a permanent and striking memorial to those who perished here.

Glenaire Beach
One of my favourite childhood memories is of Glenaire Beach. It is tucked away between Cape Otway and Castle Cove, at the mouth of the Aire River. It attracts some Surfers, but is more popular amongst surf fishermen. The Aire River campground is about 2km inland, on the banks of the river. The whole area is just beautiful.
