Beautiful Lorne, Victoria

Lorne, Victoria: It's a uniquely beautiful town which I am very fond of. It has a Charm all it's own, and attracts visitors all year round.

I love coming here for its fantastic ocean views, wonderful restaurants and beautiful natural surrounds. It is nestled between the beautiful Loutit Bay & the Otway Rainforests, and has
a great deal to offer visitors both in and around the township. Situated approximately half way between Torquay and Apollo Bay, it is in a perfect location to break the drive and just enjoy yourself.

Being a landscape Photographer, I'm attracted to the Historic Swing Bridge and accompanying boat sheds, which are just so beautiful to photograph at first light or just after sunset. If you're into romantic walks then you'll enjoy taking a stroll down the promenade and over the bridge after dining in town.

The pier is also a popular spot, and it's quite photogenic too. With the Grand Pacific Hotel providing a stunning backdrop, you're sure to get a great shot or two. The other main attractions for shutter happy visitors are the number of beautiful waterfalls in close proximity; namely Erskine Falls, one of Victoria's tallest, and Lower Kalimna Falls, which can be simply stunning after heavy rainfall.

Lorne is also famous for it's annual Pier to Pub swim, held annually each January. It is the World's largest organised swim, attracting about 4000 contestants each year.

Teddy's Lookout offers superb views of the Great Ocean Road winding around the Otway hills looking west. This part of the road is simply stunning, very classic imagery of what the region is famous for.
